Earthquake in Chile

Before I got out of bed a couple of minutes ago, I heard my mom telling my sister about the earthquake in Chile. She said that people were afraid that it my might cause a tsunami in the Australia/New Zealand area. I've tried to keep this blog relatively non-religious for the fact that I want everyone to enjoy it. But, my first thoughts this morning were, "God's coming back really soon. Earthquakes in divers places." The Scripture I was referring to was Luke 21:11, but I'm going to put the verse before that as well. Luke 21:10-11, "Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven."
I know for myself, sometimes I get so caught up in my everyday life-school work, friends, natural things of the world-and I don't stop and think about the reason that God saved me; the reason that He put me on this earth-to be a witness to a lost and dying world. Because I am saved, I can tell others that there IS hope, that God loves them, because I know His love. The Scripture that I quoted is Jesus talking, telling about the condition the world will be in before He came back for His church. I know, from those Scriptures, that the return of  the Lord is going to be here so soon. want to be ready, but I also want to help others be ready. That's my little "talk" for the day. Remember, God's coming back soon. Will you be ready?

Topic #1: Abortion

Abortion. To a lot of people, it's the medical process of ending the life of a tissue, not a baby. For many people, though, it's murder. The killing of a human baby that has not yet entered into the world. I'm going to give some statistics on abortion, then I'm going to tell you why abortion IS murder. (These statistics may be old)

Worldwide, there are approximately 42 million abortions per year.

America accounts for 1.37 million of those.

Worldwide, there are approximately 115,000 abortions per day.

America accounts for 3,700 of those.

The rest of these facts are of the U.S.

The ages of women/girls have abortions:

52% of women are under 25

32% of women are between 20-24

20% of teenagers
and 1.2 percent of girls having abortions are under 15 (something wrong with this picture??)

64.4% of women having abortions have never been married

And now here's what just ticks me off and freaks me out.

37.4% of women having abortions claim to be Protestant.

31.3% of women having abortions claim to be Catholic.

1.3% of women having abortions claim to be Jewish.

23.7% of women having abortions have no religious affiliation.

Now, 18% of women that are having abortions claim to be "born again/Evangelical"!!!

93% of women have an abortion for social reasons.

Now that I've given you the facts about abortion, here are the facts about the human life that is called by most "tissue."

18-25 days after the baby is conceived, the heart begins beating.

43 days after conception, the baby is transmitting brain waves.

At 8 weeks, the baby will wakes, sleep, suck his thumb, make a fist, and get hiccups. Now tell me that "tissue" is going to do that!

At the end 9 weeks, the baby has his/her own unique fingerprints.

At 11-12, the baby is sensitive to light, heat, touch, and noise. All body systems are working. He/she weights about 28g and is about 6-7.5 cm long.

Since a baby, to pro choice people, is just a fetus until the due date, then answer me this.
Quoting my mother, "If a woman has a baby 2 months prematurely, is it still a fetus until it's due date?" I've seen the bumper sticker many times, and it's very, very true. People say they are pro-choice, but the baby didn't have a choice.

Another point I want to bring out is, why are 21.2% of teenagers having abortions? And an even larger percentage of teens are pregnant, but not having abortions. (Good for them for choosing life, even in un-ideal circumstances) Teens aren't supposed to be getting pregnant. Abstinence until marriage is also a VERY important topic, but I'm not going to discuss it on this post.

Thanks you all for dealing with my rant ;) This is one of the few topics that gets me very riled up. As a Christian, I believe tat God is the Creator of ALL human life, and HE should decide when it ends, not us.

Issues of Today

Starting soon, I'm going to begin a series of blog posts about the issues of today. Reason being is to raise awareness in young people so they can make a difference, but also protect themselves from the traps of the world. I don't know if any younger kids read this post, but it might be a little too much for sensitive eyes. I will probably start posting tomorrow, IF I don't have a boat-load of homework! :)

Little Kids and Big Words

The other day at school, my sister had one of the girls in our school, Vivian, practice neat writing. As Vivian's practice, she had to ask everyone what the word benefactor meant and write it down, as a reporter would do. I was last in line, so I took the liberty of looking at the other kids' answers. Let me tell you, some interesting definitions will result when a kid has no clue what the correct meaning of a word is. One made-up definitions was, factories.
So, being my creative self, I decided that I would give Vivian even more practice, and get the definitions of a few more words and post them on my blog. So, here ya go.
Fallible: liable to err; not accurate. Here are some of the answers Viv got.
Valuable
like another word I don't want to discuss
flowers
not valuable
able to fall
another thing like a small story
someone who falls all the time (my smart aleck best friend came up with that one. She was being a brat about these definitions...I think she had too much caffeine that day)
Inconsolable: not able to be comforted
can be seen
not reliable
unvoilent
edible
someone you have a lot in common with
flips (best friend)
tossing
Pickerel: a small fish like a pike
can be accomplished
pick something up
jar of pickles
pick girl
some kind of machine
when every body picks something up
to pick up a roll (best friend)

I had some more words for the kids to define, but we never got around to getting their definitions. I was pretty desperate for a blog post, so I decided to go with one that wasn't quite completed lol
